Nature and the simple beauties of everyday life inspire the work of Mobile Native Rebekah Webb. A National Award-Winning Artist, Webb is trained in darkroom photography. While her artwork draws from traditional and classical methods of photography, she uses modern techniques to alter the medium, giving her creations a postmodern take on the traditional.
 
“There is something romantic about film and the magical, happy accidents that can occur in the darkroom,” explains Webb. “I use photo transfers on canvas, blurring the lines of photography and mixed media. My photographs tend to be autobiographical, capturing my own life experiences while maintaining an objectivity that sustains a broad appeal.”
 
Webb discovered her love of photography a St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile, Alabama. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with concentrations in graphic design and photography. Webb also studied at the Art Institute of Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy.

Webb is currently working as a freelance graphic designer in Fairhope, Alabama, where she resides with her husband.
